Australia, Aborigeni. Essi popolano la Down Under da sempre, ovvero dal Tempo del Sogno in cui gli Antenati Creatori, noti anche come Spiriti Antenati, vennero sulla Terra per creare. Gli 
Antenati erano esseri con grandi poteri, in virtù dei quali potevano far nascere dal nulla o annientare, modificare, qualsiasi cosa desiderassero, tramutare le forme del territorio e curare.
Il Tempo del Sogno fu rappresentato con il Sognare in terra. E così il Sognare ed il Tempo del Sogno sono un’unica cosa, ed è per questo motivo che spesso il popolo nativo non fa differenza fra Dreamtime e Dreaming. Il Sognare è però anche qualcosa che va ben al di là di ciò che è presente sul nostro pianeta. E’ un’area senza tempo, dove entrarvi richiede capacità specifiche oltre la semplice conoscenza umana. Uno sciamano, ad esempio, può farlo. Oppure il trip musicale dei Dreamtime, questa incredibile band di Brisbane formatasi sei anni fa con due meravigliosi album alle spalle.
“Strange Pleasures” è un doppio vinile che rappresenta per il gruppo una specie di proclama caleidoscopico in cui si rifrange la dimensione atemporale ed onnipervadente, fonte di ogni vita e saggezza. Arte magica, sembianze uomo-animale in cui si descrive l’oscillazione di uno spirito fra liturgia medianica, elevazione dalla materia, librarsi attraverso la personale sostanza energetica nell’Universo, assumere un soffio corporeo oltre i varchi conosciuti. Il suono si diffonde tra incubo e delirio, percorso esoterico dove monumentali versioni cosmico-lisergiche fanno dell’opera una dilatata ombra di Ummagumma, precisamente nel comparire totemico di sinapsi Progressive.
Undici titoli di psichedelia globale, stravaganza, improvvisazione, freak-out, reminescenze folk. Proprietà psichiche e percettive elaborano l’arabesco cromatico che si scompone e si incendia astraendosi. In tutti i brani lo strumento del pensiero si riformula efficacemente, vertiginosamente i mantra si schiantano nel Signore di tutte le Galassie. Fuoco alieno per custodire la creazione perchè se l’energia trasformata in materia venisse alterata nulla esisterebbe.

Vera espansione mentale e artistica, un’infinità di tempestosi e titanici dettagli vengono incollati e sovrapposti per ottenere uno scorrimento di euritmia nelle luminose vie. “Strange Pleasures” is a double vinyl that represents for the group a kind of kaleidoscopic manifest where is refracted the atemporal and all pervading dimension, source of life and wisdom.
