(L’alchimista Alejandro Jodorowsky).

Una risposta a “Mt. Mountain (AUS)”

  1. English translation…

    Mt. Mountain
    “Dust”

Absence of inner perturbation, balance. A clear understanding of insightful consciousness, lack of egocentrism.

“Dust” is the new album by Mt.Mountain, Australians from Perth, released after the beautiful “Cosmos Terros”. In these new recordings coexists an overall evolution, a loosened approach, almost the natural progress, dotted line, of a determinate idea. Emerge the development of the artistic influences, the passages finish in a wake and the sounds are on the whole extensive. The sense of the arcane is not used to arouse fright or amazing euphoria, but, to the opposite, to encourage the contiguity between the forces of the infinite and the understanding.

The outpuring in “Dust” infuses re-structured emotions, belonged to the new psychedelia, by a universal harmony, a post-ambient of inner sound mixed to terrestrial counterpoints, rather than a futuristic flip-frame. An emotional crackling that contains values certainly more inclined to desolate, dusty, enchanting lands, in which the union of the individual shines through with the source of the life. Meditation as control of our mind. The science of the intelligence. The music of the mind.

The album begins with the ‘title-track’, seventeen minutes on the axis of the two guitarists Glenn Palmer and Derrick Treatch and the mantle of tiny particles of keyboard player Stephen Bailey.
The buzzing embrace the cosmic symphony developing the bija in his vibrational power. Slow and sandy the mantra contributes to the wave function. The bass of Brendan Shanley and the percussions of Thomas Cahill leave a restless inkling of unsuccessful – imminent ecstasy, perhaps to remember how the state of dream could be interrupted with imperfect impulses. And, while ancient and modern become evanescent, before creating a kind of almost silence, it explodes, sudden, a violent electric wall. As if the tower of a mysterious alchemist was attached by dangerous emptinesses.

But the dissolution has dragged on never-ending, the quiet odyssey returns to the opening evocative run, continuing the allegoric journey. The harmony still re-shines between guitars and singing of a minimalist fakir, who looks for the truth in the desert solitude.’Floating Eyes’ assumes the transparence fallen apart inside docile pomposity, beats by african goblet drums. Surreal movements guided by Palmer in the spiritual hug, offered to a crystalline harmonic weaving. The charming perfume permeates monochord noises creating a song “orientalish influenced”.

‘Kokoti’ draws againso the connection between East and West, baroquism immersed in Tibetan counterpoints. A meeting of overlapping cultures, moving back and meet again. Musical blasphemy where the King Crimson of Island, Myrrors and Hills join together in a fluctuating shamanism. The beginning of the track restores traces of sacred magniloquence, pervaded and then picked up by a more intimate pseudo-acoustic aesthetics. The guitars guide the soaking melancholy up to pushing in the final part to cross an energizing connection, by transcending splendours, the pure state of the being. Definitely between the most beautiful compositions of the psychedelic philosophy of this year.

Really the activity of thought, mostly systematics, looking to define the permanent structures of the reality, how to indicate universal rules of the path, they reminded the ideals of Popol Vuh of Hosianna Mantra. Not so much for the musical affinity but for the humble research of the peaceful tones, the semi-ambience developments, an introspective that evolves in the infinite timing of the cosmos, leaving the inner faculty to the essence. Irreversibly angelic the conclusive ‘Outro’. Sweet signs in an electrified cameo with enchanting solemn chorus.

If the name of the band evokes, besides, the meaning contrast between words or locutions of identical or similar type, or words sequence, we find not only the letters M and T like Transcendental Meditation but also Holy Mountain.

“Surrender what you hate, what you desire. You will know nothingness, it is the only reality!” (The alchemist Alejandro Jodorowsky).
