L’eloquenza solare di una renaissance prog-rock made in UK ritorna ad emettere musica in frequenze Canterbury sound con il
quarto album dei Magic Bus, tra i primi e più ispirati gruppi lungo gli anni 2010.
La stroboscopica espressività della loro topografia aggiunge la nuova coordinata “The Earth Years”, un punticino sospeso da cui godere il panorama della traiettoria iperbolica di: Paul Evans (vocals, guitar), Jay Darlington (keyboards), Terence Waldstädt (lead guitar), Wihll Mellorz (bass) e Connor Spring (drums).
Forse anche un momento di riflessione dopo l’abbandono della flautista e cantante Viv Goodwin-Darke ora con gli Invisible Opera Company of Tibet. Circostanza che il resto del gruppo, rileggendo gli appunti di 
viaggio di Caravan, Gong, Hatfield and the North, affrontano reimmaginando l’arte sublime di scuola Canterbury. E lo fanno con una musica ad alta definizione ancora una volta autoprodotta su Back to the Garden Records, registrata ai Vale studios nella campagna del Worchestershire e masterizzata nell’olimpo Abbey Road di Londra.
L’inventiva del gruppo resta fedele a una scrittura aperta e densa di giocosi enigmi come l’iniziale ‘Easy Om’ una fluida melodia brulicante di corde e tasti tra preziosismi timbrici e improvvisi cambi di tempo. Particolari vivacizzanti ogni successivo ascolto anche quando Magic Bus rallentano i toni nelle arie pastorali di 
‘Inca Trails’ e ‘We Are One’. Fraseggi acustici balenano sui fremiti mesmerici di ‘New Day’ e ‘Setting Sun’. Fantastici riflessi che dirigono il suono tra risonaze sitar verso le aperture oriental-jazz di ‘Squirrel’ e nel caleidoscopio psichedelico di ‘The Road To La Mezquita’. Le eccentriche incandescenze di ‘Barleycorn’ oscillano nel magma chitarristico e sui vapori di droni acustici. Nel mito del folklore Britannico. Suggestivo solstizio di suoni psych-prog.
Terra magica e incognita in un anno difficile.

The solar eloquence of a prog-rock renaissance made in UK returns to emit music in Canterbury sound frequencies with the fourth album by Magic Bus, one of the first and most inspired groups along 2010 years.
The stroboscopic expressiveness of their topography adds the new coordinate “The Earth Years”, a suspended point from which to enjoy the panorama of the hyperbolic trajectory of: Paul Evans (vocals, guitar), Jay Darlington (keyboards), Terence Waldstädt (lead guitar), Wihll Mellorz (bass) and Connor Spring (drums ).
Perhaps also a moment of reflection after the departure of flutist and singer Viv Goodwin-Darke now with the Invisible Opera Company of Tibet. A circumstance that the rest of the group facing, re-reading the travel notes of Caravan, Gong, Hatfield and the North, reimagining the sublime art of the Canterbury school.
