A volte brutali, a volte d’effetto bizantino.

Lay Bare Recordings (LP & CD)

Flaming expanses of enameled luster, devoutly dry in the vicious search for cosmic arcana. Without uttering a sing, without complaining about the constant shifting of evolved and knurled grooves. It is the gravel desert and the sand one. The rocky desert with plateaus and lowlands, plains, valleys, pebbles and large or medium boulders. You always find them perfectly separate, an independent desert different from the others, as if it had been cut by a star laser.

Bismut from Nijmegen (Holland) fly over the mists of fuzz, obscure stoner textures with a progressive metal that sublimes like mercury salt in the psychedelic fluid mass. Nik (guitar), Peter (drums) and Huibert (bass) drag their second album after the post psych-doom dawn of “Schwerpunkt” and collect the heights of an anxious impressionism made up of continuous and heavy riffs. A solid sound, oxidized by Hawkwind-style rear views and by daring toxic-dramaturgical emanations dear to Tool.

You travel on trans-Saharan caravans at high temperatures, very aggressive sinister messages, coagulated by a pernicious rhythm that generates flashes of lethal thermal energy. Six songs that form a mantric phoenix that obsessively regenerates itself between empty skulls and intense variations. Sometimes brutal, sometimes with different shades.

The blazing start of ‘Darkening’ modulates evil resonances by constantly increasing heavy psych flicker. ‘Predvidanie’ and ‘Varasaga’ dominate the guitar stress which absorbs dynamic power. ‘Vergangenheit’ seduces in an oriental vortex that brings back Agitation Free hallucinations in stormy oases, made of amorphous silica. The incandescent restlessness provokes the convulsive melodious raid of ‘Non-Lokaliteit’ and the powerful ending, intimated by ‘Atithesis’, decrees that an instrumental work of this sort is truly fascinating.

“Retrocausality” reveals an amazing crystalline metal, immersed in a never uniform magnetic field.
